A door at an NYU Langone laboratory would not close all the way. As sometimes happens with normal wear and tear, door hinges will need to be readjusted when the hinges shift closer to the frame. This can also occur due to high humidity since the moisture in the air can cause wood to swell, making a wood door difficult (if not impossible) to close.
NYC Doors and More technicians removed the hinges from the commercial door and readjusted them in order to increase the space between the door and the frame.
Now the laboratory technicians can keep the door closed and have peace of mind that the room is secure when they are not there conducting experiments. And, by using the doors’ original hinges, we saved the lab a lot of money!
